A am tired of starting poems that I never finish so started thinking about collaborative poetry.
I get a notion and rush to write some lines and very rarely revisit the poem so here’s one that I’d like to see completed with help from the community.
I’ve called it The Simple Things because I was thinking about a time long before money, the rat race and consumerism were invented. I came up with a few lines then hit a block. Help me finish it just for fun.
This is not like Japanese collaborative poetry (Renku), the only rules are that you move the story along. Maybe by the time it’s finished we can bring things up to the present day.
All you need to do is write a verse or two in the comments to continue the story.
I built my hut by the river content to hunt and fish.
That the moon rise and the sunset were my only wish.
Weaving cotton for my clothes and tanning hide for my feet.
No clock to tell me when to wake up, sleep or eat.
